From tiny seeds mighty oaks can grow.

According to Betsy Brown and a group of young artists, future businesses and services can also grow from seeds of thought. That idea is illustrated by a mural in the stairwell of the old GMAC building.

In it, light bulbs produce seeds that grow up the concrete walls from the fourth to the fifth floor where they blossom into a landscape of fertile green fields and the Winston-Salem skyline.

Brown is the director of Winston Starts, a business incubator that has been hatched in the Flow building, formerly inhabited by GMAC, on Fifth Street.
